Сходил на "Принцессу мононокэ" в кино. Теперь сижу, доучиваю особенности перевода. Потому что забавно учить яп, не уча яп, но узнать что-то новое никогда не лишнее.
А в сабже как раз много интересных слов, зацепился за 祟り (татари) и 呪い (норой), потому что перевод у них зачастую одинаков, но применение подразумевало особенности, а поиски дали кучу нюансов, которые ни одни перевод сабжа не передаст.
Tatari
Originally a condition wherein a spirit caused a calamitous condition, or an evil effect or a supernatural force that worked within that condition to punish human beings for their transgressions, malice, or neglect of religious duties. Later, when goryō shinkō ("belief in malevolent human spirits") developed, such human spirits were also considered able to curse and harm people. Originally, however, the significance of tatari lay in the idea of the manifestation of divine will: When a calamity or epidemic occurred, people recognized tatari through divination (bokusen) or an oracle (takusen) that revealed which divine spirit was causing the disaster and for what reason. It was also believed that by correcting the error or transgression, tatari could be quelled. However, with malevolent spirits of human origin, cases appeared wherein the spirit cursed only certain individuals or were too tenacious to pacify. In such instances the scheme where the management of tatari eliminated calamities did not necessarily function.
